On December 4, 2024, the Komori Graphic Centre – Europe in Utrecht, Netherlands, hosted the much-anticipated Polish Packaging Day. The event welcomed customers from Poland for a hands-on exploration of cutting-edge packaging technology and innovations. Attendees engaged with the advanced GLX-740CC machine through live demonstrations showcasing the precision of conventional and H-UV inks and gained valuable insights during presentations on market trends and Komori Digital innovations. A walkthrough of the GLX740a and the KP Connect software further highlighted how these tools optimize production workflows.
For Stanisław Hojny, Co-Owner of Unipak, the event was a thrilling step in his journey with Komori. He shared his excitement about the imminent installation of a new Komori machine:
"Seeing the machine in action and learning about its capabilities was incredibly useful. By the end of December, we’ll have our own machine operational—I might even get to push the start button myself!"
Hojny praised the insights gained from learning about KP Connect software and the thoughtful demonstrations provided. He also reflected on the cultural bonds he witnessed during a prior visit to Komori in Japan:
"I was deeply impressed by the care Komori showed, such as welcoming us with the Polish flag and sharing a film about Poland-Japan connections during World War II."
Maciej Pospiech, Co-Owner of PrintExtra, and his team attended the event to build on their established relationship with Komori. Having installed Europe’s first Lithrone G640 Advance model three years ago, PrintExtra has seen the machine excel in packaging production. "This configuration has great potential, especially with Pantone capabilities," said Pospiech. The event allowed his team, including their head printer and production manager, to evaluate Komori's latest innovations. He added:
"Today was much better than Drupa for diving into specifics. We were able to thoroughly explore options and discuss the future."
With 60% of PrintExtra’s operations focused on packaging, the day’s insights will inform their next investment decisions.
For Pawel Halbedel, President of Con-Graph Polska, the day represented a crucial step toward a significant investment:
"We’re interested in purchasing a machine like the Lithrone GX740CC. The event provided valuable insights into configurations relevant to our growing packaging business."
Halbedel emphasized the importance of flexibility and cost-efficiency in printing machinery, given the diverse demands of the packaging market:
"Our jobs range from quarter-pallet runs to large-scale production. Finding a machine that efficiently handles both is critical."
Polish Packaging Day 2024 was more than a showcase of technology—it was a celebration of collaboration. Attendees appreciated the opportunity to network, explore the Lithrone GLX740CC Advance, and discuss shared challenges and solutions. A lively social media post from Reprograf Grafikus S.A. summarised the event:
"It was a unique meeting full of inspiration, from presentations on the latest technologies to unforgettable discussions. Together, we can do more!"
As the event concluded with networking sessions and a cultural excursion to Amsterdam, the Polish packaging community left with fresh ideas and strengthened partnerships, ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities of the evolving industry.
