Tryk Team Svendsborg increases turnover by almost 50% with the Komori GL640+C and GL540 Advance+C

Torben Jeppesen (73), owner & CEO, has spent nearly four decades building one of Denmark's leading printing companies, Tryk Team Svendborg. His journey in the graphic industry began somewhat by chance, having previously worked in various fields including the automotive industry. An opportunity to start his own business came while he was with a company selling printed materials. Alongside his partner Finn Petersson, who brought technical expertise as a printer, Torben leveraged his commerce background to establish Tryk Team. Svendborg, the location of Tryk Team, holds a special place for Torben as it is his birthplace and current residence. This connection to Svendborg is a significant reason for the company's location.

Customer-centric approach

The success of Tryk Team can be attributed to a customer-centric approach. Despite geographic distances, the company ensures regular and faithful visits to local and remote customers. This strategy of close customer engagement, combined with a prudent financial approach of balancing loans and avoiding unnecessary debt, has fueled the company's growth. Tryk Team's diversified revenue streams have also provided a buffer, ensuring stability even when some areas underperform.

Adapting to Market Changes

Adapting to constant market changes is crucial for Tryk Team. The company's operations are based on listening to customer needs and responding accordingly. Torben emphasizes the value of not employing direct salespeople, preferring to offer customers discounts. This strategy, coupled with long-standing relationships built on credibility, has set Tryk Team apart from its competitors. The company boasts 38 employees, 10 of whom have been with Tryk Team for over 25 years, ensuring extensive knowledge and trust.

Investment in Technology

Investing in advanced technology has been a cornerstone of Tryk Team's strategy. The company's equipment includes the Komori GL640+C and GL540 Advance+C. The decision to invest in Komori machines stemmed from a need for increased capacity and higher demands from customers. Komori's reputation, with partners' recommendations and the availability of pre-produced machines, made it a suitable choice.

The Komori machines have significantly improved Tryk Team's operations, reducing overtime and enhancing production scheduling. The machines' reliability is evident, with one running 15 million sheets without a single service call. This investment has not only reduced overtime but also increased turnover by almost 50%.

Future Vision

Looking ahead, Tryk Team remains focused on minimizing downtime and errors. The company is considering replacing its 6-colour machine and continues to evaluate the best options for future investments. The collaboration with Komori and their Danish supplier, Custmo, has been instrumental, in providing excellent after-sales service and support.

Torben's visit to the Komori factory in Japan left a lasting impression, highlighting the quality and meticulous craftsmanship of Komori machines.

In conclusion, Tryk Team's success story is a testament to Torben Jeppesen's leadership, strategic vision, and commitment to excellence. As the company continues to evolve, its foundational principles of customer focus, prudent financial management, and investment in technology will undoubtedly drive further growth and success.
